We are excited to announce the publication of our collaborative research paper with Exalos. This joint effort marks a significant milestone in the development of cutting-edge inertial measurement units (IMUs) and highlights the innovative advancements achieved by the partnership between Fiber Optical Solution and Exalos.
The paper, titled “High-Precision Inertial Measurement Unit with Closed-Loop Fiber Optic Gyros – operated by a new 1550nm 3-fiber SLED transceiver” details a revolutionary approach to IMU design.
Key achievements include:
The new IMUs are based on 3-axis closed-loop fiber optic gyroscopes (FOGs), leveraging a highly integrated optical transceiver that includes a 1:3 beam divider, a 3-channel optical circulator, and integrated receiver photodiodes.
This breakthrough not only enhances the performance and reliability of IMUs but also demonstrates the potential of collaborative innovation in fiber optic technologies.
The full paper is available at IEEE Xplore.
We are proud to contribute to advancements in the field of inertial measurement systems and look forward to exploring further collaborations with Exalos and other industry leaders.
